Consultant, Hanschell & Co.Drum Manley Drummond, an experienced attorney called to the Bar in both Barbados and Jamaica, has built a diverse legal career with expertise spanning Commercial Law, Taxation, Conveyancing, and Legal Structuring. With over two decades of practice, Drum has represented major clients in the Caribbean, including Knutsford Court Hotels and Sol Petroleum Jamaica. He holds a B.A. in English Literature from McGill University, a L.L.B. from the University of the West Indies, and a Certificate of Legal Education from the Norman Manley Law School.
Drum’s career has seen him serve as Legal Counsel at the Tax Administration Services Department in Jamaica, a role in which he was involved in drafting tax legislation. His consultancy roles, including at Phillipson Partners, have honed his leadership skills, with a focus on resolving complex commercial and taxation issues. His work has been instrumental in large-scale events such as the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup.
In addition to his legal expertise, Drum is passionate about surfing and is a founding member of the Jamaica Surfing Association. He also actively contributes to several boards, including the Norman Washington Manley Foundation and the Edna Manley Foundation.
